Advanced biological wastewater treatment system
Deep sea discharge
The aim of the East Samsun Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility and Deep Sea Discharge Project is to stop the pollution of the city's shoreline by wastewater. The wastewater is collected with a collector system, then undergoes treatment and is discharged into the deep sea at 2.5 km distance to the shore. The project is unique in terms of its technology and features and with regard to its contribution to environmental protection and tourism in the Black Sea Region.
The project was also supported by international creditor organistations and implemented using the FIDIC Gold Book model.
The facility consists of an inlet structure and pumping station, sand and oil trap, BioP ponds, aeration ponds, final settling ponds, DDD (Deep Sea Discharge) pumping station, DDD chemical dosing unit, sludge thickening and dewatering, lime dosing and odour treatment units.
The construction supervision services of the project were carried out by an international consortium led by Yüksel Proje.
