There are 116 viaducts/bridges with a total length of 27.1 km, 62 tunnels with a total length of 270.4 km and 40 stations within the scope of the project.
The location of the project is in India-China border which makes it one of the most strategic railway projects in India. When completed it will be the highest railway line in the world with a maximum altitude of 4717 m. %55 of the total alignment length consists of tunnels.
