Master Plan Study of Transportation Coastal structures aims at evaluation of the current situation of vital points of maritime transportation, i.e. the ports, their problems and the expectations of stakeholders, estimation of general and regional local and foreign demands, fulfilling these demands at the location in a timely manner, and extension of maritime trade so as to provide maximum benefit to the country’s economy. Furthermore, it aims at determining the infrastructure of the coastal structures in terms of type, function, capacity and location, increasing employment in this sector and development of strategies and plans in order to add value to the economy of the country.

The results of this work, have been approved by Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication, and printed in September 2010, and opened to the use of stakeholders at the web site of General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (
